Seomra Ranga has commenced a new page on the site with signs and posters on an ICT-related theme. The first of these resources has now been posted onto the page. They are flashcards with vocabulary relating to ICT and the Internet, both in English and as Gaeilge. If any obvious vocabulary has been ommitted from these resources, let me know and it can be added quite easily. As always, the resources are free to download from the Seomra Ranga site, but I do ask that the copyright of the site be respected and that these resources are not posted onto any other website or any other resource-sharing forum. All of these resources are available to download now HERE >>>>>

Would anyone happen to have any old Buntús filmstrips and/or accompanying teacher manuals in their school that they don’t want. I’m interested in seeing if they could be digitised/recycled/changed into Powerpoints etc. and made available to teachers on the Seomra Ranga website. I’m willing to have a try at this to see if it will work. I know that some of the stuff will be seriously outdated but with so little Gaeilge resources out there, it’s worth seeing if we could get any benefit out of these old filmstrips. I’ve had a look for some of these filmstrips in e-bay and elsewhere on the ‘net to see if there are any but without any success. If anyone has any of these filmstrips/teacher manuals that they are willing to part with, I’m willing to pay for the cost of postage. You can let me know at info@seomraranga.com I recall that schools also had other nature filmstrips, so if anyone has any of those, I’m also interested in seeing if a resource can be created from those.

The Lined Pages section of the Seomra Ranga website has grown recently with the addition of many new lined pages with decorative borders. They’re great for presenting written work, especially the final draft of a story. Some have a theme which may tie in with the piece of written work. Some are seasonally themed, so there are pages with a winter theme, Celtic patterned pages for St. Patrick’s Day, summer themed pages and pages with a Valentine’s theme. All are free to download and hopefully more new resources will appear in this section in the near future. All these resources can be downloaded here:

Many thanks to all Seomra Ranga users who took the trouble to upload a resource to the website during the month of November for the Seomra Ranga / Edware Competition. Many new resources have been added to the site as a result of the competition. Some people added many new resources to the site. However, overall, I thought that many more individuals would have taken part in the competition, especially given that the site attracts so many visitors each month.
Many thanks to Luke Curley at Edware Interactive Learning (www.edware.ie) for sponsoring the prizes of the popular Know Your Ireland and Know Your Europe software. Each person who uploaded a resource was allocated a number by me. Luke then selected three random numbers in order to select the prize recipients. The winners of the prizes are Shaygirl, Orla Dempsey and Drom NS.

The Christmas season is upon us again and the Christmas @ Seomra Ranga website, which was launched last year, is up and running again. It’s full of resources for the Christmas season in the classroom: religious resources, signs and posters, music and visual arts ideas. New this year are some resources created with Wordle. Some new Christmas resources will be added to the site over the coming days and weeks, so keep returning to the site to view these. If you have a Christmas resource that you have created yourself, please share it with others by uploading it to Seomra Ranga. Suggestions of links to other sites with Christmas resources are also welcome.
