This is the seventh year of the Edublog Awards, an international award for educational blogs. The purpose of the Edublog awards is promote and demonstrate the educational values of this form of new social media. There are 23 different categories of awards ranging from Best Group Blog, Best Educational Wiki to Best Educational Webinar Series. Last year Anseo.net won the award for the most influential Blog Post for his post Heads in the Cloud. This year there have been a number of nominations from the Irish Educational web community. These are:

- Best class blog – Ms Leydon’s Class
- Best resource sharing blog – SCC English
- Best educational tech support blog – Anseo.net
- Best educational use of audio – SCC English Audio Boos – Patterns of Poetry
- Best educational use of a virtual world – Daynuv
