It is with deep regret that I have to announce the imminent closure of the Seomra Ranga website. It’s been a great journey over the past five years but the time has come to re-assess the website and the time commitment involved in keeping it up-to-date. Through working on the website, I’ve met some great people involved in education in general and technology in education in particular, and this has been a very enriching experience both personally and professionally. However, the website has been a victim of its own success and that success has been a double-edged sword. The exponential increase in traffic to the website has necessitated extra costs to the site. These costs are necessary to keep the site running. However, without financial support, these costs have become a burden. Therefore, I have taken the difficult decision to bring the Seomra Ranga website to an end. With effect from Easter Sunday, this website will cease to exist.

If there was a winner for Best Tweet in relation to this post, this would be it:
@seomraranga If this were true, I think teachers would hold a protest equal to those about the household charge! 😉 Keep up the good work!

It would be Very Sad … if this were true.
Happy April fools!!
Brilliant. Such relief that it is 1/4/2012!!
Please don’t close this website. I really like it and so does my friends. By the way Happy April Fool’s Day LOL 😀 . Please dont close it 🙁
Ha Ha Ha Mr. Quinn……….ana-greannmhar ar fad…..Maith thú……Happy Easter break and keep up the great work that you’re doing…..Stiofan(“,)
I’m sure you’ve worked out at this stage that this was my idea of a little April Fool’s Day prank. I hope there weren’t too many heart flutters! So Seomra Ranga won’t be closing any time soon. However, there was more than a hint of truth in the post so if you know of any company with an interest in education or teachers who would be willing to advertise on the site to defray the costs, I’d be delighted to hear from them.
Hi Damien……I will get onto Prim-ed and Rainbow Education to ask them to advertise on Seomre Ranga. They’re both companies that want to reach teachers and are both based in County Wexford.
It was a good prank but on a serious note, you are deserving of support to not alone stay in business but to grow and develop also,
Stephen.
Thanks for that Stephen. I’ve approached both previously, to no avail.
