How many of you know about, or have heard of, “App Friday“? App Friday is a weekly promotion to highlight educational apps published each week on the App Friday home page. Every Friday, a grid of apps is published on the site at free or reduced prices. The site does deals with developers who publish family-friendly or educational content apps. These apps are then featured on the App Friday website, showing the price reduction and with a link to the iTunes App Store.
This week, for example, there is a Spooky Story Dice game that might be suitable for Hallowe’en (Free); there is an iTouchiLearn Life Skills app for morning routines that sounds like it might be suitable for special needs pupils (Free); there’s a Doodle Critter Maths game (99c); there’s a Wild Animals Puzzle game (Free). In all, there are nineteen apps on special offer this week. You may not like them all, but there will always be one or two that you will be able to use with your pupils. Last week, I downloaded a Farm Puzzles game which my pupils have been really enjoying during the week at school.
To avail of the weekly special offers on educational apps, simply visit the App Friday site each Thursday night/Friday and start downloading. Also keep an eye out on Twitter for the hashtag #APPFRIDAY
