The Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) have organised a conference entitled “Literacy Teaching and Learning – Bringing It All Together” on Saturday June 7th. With Keynote Speakers Sue Bodman and Glen Franklin, the conference will also feature a number of workshops on various aspects of literacy including:

* Comprehension – beyond literal understanding

* Introducing a new book to young children

* Reading Recovery and a whole school approach to literacy

* Magnetic letters – a practical guide
