Many teachers, perhaps especially those in junior classes, will at some stage do some work on the Post Office. It’s a great theme to employ in the classroom and gives some great opportunities for some cross-curricular and integrated theme work. Many teachers doing Aistear will use the Post Office as one of their themes for this reason.

It has some great images that you can download; information suitable for maths work based on post size and weight; the history of An Post; lots of activites, resources, worksheets and lesson plans.
There is lots to explore on this website, and if you are doing a post office theme, there’s everything you need to set up the socio-dramatic area in the classroom like signage, forms, stamps, passport forms etc.
