Were the Vikings really just marauding, murdering maniacs? You can find out in ‘The Vikings’ by John Farrelly. In ‘The Vikings’, there were comic strips and newspapers, funny brochures and sections where you had to use your Viking knowledge to know who was lying. The author, John Farrelly, makes the book really funny. It’s definitely not like any boring, old fact book, this is an entertaining book in which you can learn about Vikings.
The characters are fun and they differ between the different stories. Some of them might remind you of the fighting between you and your siblings, or maybe it’s your mother who won’t let you save Dublin!
I think the book was fantastic! I liked everything about it. ‘The Vikings’ was an informative but fun read, unlike your own history book for school.
I liked all of the book. My favourite parts were the comics, especially ‘I Only Wanted to Axe You Something’. It was absolutely hilarious and you would be rolling on the ground laughing.
I think ‘The Vikings’ is suitable for age 8 and I would give this book 9 out of 10.
