“Where Are You Puffling”, from a story by Sean Daly, re-told by Erika McGann, with illustrations by Gerry Daly, is a story about a curious little puffling who lives on Skellig Michael. One sunny morning, she decides to go on an adventure. Her mammy and daddy can’t find her anywhere but the animals and birds of Skellig Michael can help them out.
Our favourite part of the story is when the whales carry Puffling in a boat back to her parents.
We loved this book because the illustrations are lovely. We like it because it is set in Ireland. The last two pages of the book show all the huts, birds, animals and fish that can be seen on the Skellig islands and in the water. All the creatures are numbered and labelled.
We think this book is for children age 4 to 6. But the illustrations are really nice so maybe a 7 or 8 year old would enjoy looking at this book and reading it for their younger brother or sister.
We give this book 10 out of 10.
