This book tells the story of a girl who is the only one who can see the ghost called Davy. Davy is the ghost who is haunting Paddy Breen’s supermarket. He is doing this because he is unhappy with Paddy. Maria, the girl helps Davy to get to the bottom of his problems. Throughout the story they play tricks on Paddy Breen to try to get him to reveal his secret.
The characters are Maria, Davy, Paddy Breen, Maria’s dad Mike, Rose and Mrs Marsh. Mike delivers fresh bread loaves to Paddy Breen’s supermarket every day, Rose works at the checkout, and Paddy Breen isn’t a very nice man at all. The main characters are Maria and Davy because they add most to the story.
Over all this is a good book and if you like ghost stories then this is the book for you. I would recommend this book for 8 and 9 year olds.
