‘Go to Sleep, Hoglet! The Adventures of an Irish Hedgehog’ by Bex Sheridan is a gorgeous book that will delight readers young and old.
The book tells the story of little Hoglet, on the threshold of his first ‘Big Winter Sleep’. Like many youngsters, Hoglet is reluctant to go to sleep, and sets off on an adventure on the bus instead.
Hoglet visits some famous Irish landmarks including Trim Castle, the Hill of Tara and Newgrange, while also exploring Irish festivals and traditions. Eventually, Hoglet gives in and returns home to spend Christmas with his hedgehog family, doing what hedgehogs do best, sleeping!
‘Go to Sleep, Hoglet!’ is a charming tale, with beautiful illustrations and several curriculum links for use in schools. This book is a must for every classroom and family home in Co. Meath, and further afield.
