A little puffling leaves her burrow and goes on an adventure. When her parents discover that she is gone they go in search of their puffling. During their search, the puffin parents meet a gannet, a rabbit, a chick, a seal and a dolphin who have all seen the puffling going about on her adventure. The animals all direct the puffin parents to where they saw the puffin chick.
Eventually the puffin parents spot Puffling, stranded on a boat, as she hasn’t learnt to fly. All the animals in the story work together before some whales come to the pufflings rescue. Eventually the puffling is reunited with her parents before it is time for bed.
This is a shortened, toddler friendly version of the original ‘Where are You Puffling?’ story set on Skellig Michael. This board book version is colourful, engaging and ideal for toddlers. The quality of the board is very durable and Gerry Daly’s illustrations will really capture a toddler’s attention. There are opportunities for readers to play ‘spot the puffling’ throughout the book with their young audience.
The board book version is great to give to our youngest to handle when we are reading the original with her older brother. Before getting this book, she was constantly trying to turn the pages mid-sentence!! The size of the book is easy for her to grasp, and she enjoy trying to spot puffling on her own book.
