Nollaig Shona, the Christmas resources website from Seomra Ranga, celebrated its first birthday this week. I spent many months during 2011 making preparations to launch the new site. Previously, the Christmas resources had been housed in a sub-domain of Seomra Ranga but the amount of resources was growing and needed their own website. So, after a lot of preparation and planning, Nollaig Shona was launched in October 2011.
It received a great reaction last Christmas and it’s ready again with lots of different resources for classroom planning for the Christmas season. There are flashcards, posters, worksheets, seasonal music, quizzes, religious resources and visual arts ideas. There are also lots of links to resources and games on other websites. There are some lovely seasonal videos from YouTube to show in the classroom, providing that YouTube isn’t blocked in your school.
I will continue over the next while to upload some new resources to the site, so I’d encourage teachers to keep up to date with developments on the site by subscribing to the site via email on the top right of the website. This means that if new resources are uploaded onto the site, you will receive one email per day letting you know about new uploads. You can also follow Seomra Ranga on Twitter or Facebook to keep up to date.
Finally, if you have Christmas resources that you have created and are willing to share them with others, please email them as an attachment to me at info@nollaigshona.ie
