Safer Internet Day is an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users, especially young people. It is promoted in Ireland by the PDST Technology in Education and Webwise, and will be celebrated in Ireland on Tuesday 10th February 2015.
2015 will be the twelfth year of the event. This year’s call to action is, “Let’s Create a Better internet Together” and the hashtags for the day are #SID2015 and #Up2Us.
There are a number of classroom resources on the Safer Internet Day website HERE to help deal with the topic of internet safety. Information on a special series of lessons for 5th/6th class called “Myselfie and the Wider World” is also available on this website HERE
