The forthcoming Tech Me Up workshops is the brainchild of Maggie Green (A Geek and a Teacher) from Donegal. Earlier in the year, she had a vision of hosting a day long set of workshops to showcase technology. Since then Letterkenny Institute of Technology has come on board and agreed to host the event.
The organisers of the event would love to see teachers from all levels there, especially teachers who are reluctant users of technology in the classroom or teachers at the beginning of their career. Everyone starts somewhere and part of the purpose of the event is to support teachers who want to start using more technology in the classroom but don’t know where to start. Student teachers and teachers in their Dip year are especially encouraged to attend.
There’s a lot of variety to the day long event which takes place in Letterkenny Institute of Technology on Saturday June 6th from 10:30am to 4pm. The timetable of workshops is listed below. I will be giving a workshop on integrating technology into work on the class novel.
Registration for the event is now open HERE and there is a nominal fee of €10 to cover costs. You can follow Tech Me Up on Facebook HERE
