‘Let’s Colour Ireland’ is a non-fiction colouring book written and illustrated by Alan Nolan, published in 2018 by O’Brien Press. Each page of the book has an interesting colouring activity based on an Irish landmark along with some interesting information about it.
I really enjoyed exploring ‘Let’s Colour Ireland’. The book is very educational and teaches you about Irish history in a fun way. I would recommend the book for children from the age of seven up, as the beautiful, detailed pictures in it could be challenging for a younger child to colour in. The language used in the book is easy to understand and made me want to keep reading more about the landmarks.
I found this book very exciting from start to finish. What I most liked about the book was the fact that not only was there a fun colouring activity for each landmark, but there are also great interesting facts on each page. I have been to a few of the places in the book with my family already, for example Kilkenny Castle and the Phoenix Park, and after reading the book I am eager to explore many more of these Irish landmarks.
In my opinion, ‘Let’s Colour Ireland’ is a fascinating educational book. I think it is a wonderful way for children to learn about Irish culture and history in a fun way. I will be recommending this book to all my friends because it has something for everyone!
