Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Cúram Gréine
This resource consists of twelve photo posters as Gaeilge on the theme of keeping safe in the sun as the summer approaches. Its aim is to provoke talk and discussion amongst pupils about the strategies which will keep them safe whilst enjoying the summer sun.
CVC Words Booklet
This 14-page phonics booklet is aimed at infant pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on phonics. It is based on their knowledge of all types of CVC words. The resource could be used as a teaching tool or alternatively, it could be used as a form of practice and/or assessment. Three different booklets are included in the resource.
Graduation Book
This resource is aimed at 6th class pupils at the end of their primary school years. It has up to 50 pages for pupils to complete, illustrate and decorate. It has sheets that look back, reminisce and look forward. It gets pupils to record facts about themselves, their memories, their favourite things, those special moments and what they are looking forward to as they embark on their secondary school journey.
Matching Hives and Bees
This resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes, SEN pupils or pupils who need some practice on visual discrimination and revision on colour. The resource, based on hives and bees, aims to help pupils to use visual cues to match each bee to its matching colour hive. There are twelve hives for pupils to match.
5 Virtual Tours for the Classroom
Tours are a great way of enhancing an educational experience for pupils, but it is not always realistic or viable to bring pupils out of the classroom setting and visit a venue in person. Mandala Art
This visual art lesson is aimed at pupils in middle and senior classes. It is based on Mandala Art, believed to have originated in the fourth century by Buddhist monks. Usually consisting of a series of concentric circles and patterns, creating or colouring mandalas can promote mindfulness and relaxation. The resource has information, mandala samples and colouring sheets.
Book Review – The Tower Ghost
In ‘The Tower Ghost,’ set in 1963 at Sycamore Hill Boarding School in Donegal, three schoolgirls, Clare, Rose, and Molly, dive into a mystery to find out who is the ghostly girl seen in the school’s old tower. To mark Earth Day 2024, this resource aims to focus the minds of pupils on climate and climate change and what they can do to be a “Climate Hero” to save our planet. The resource contains information on climate, climate change, the effects of climate change on the world and what small actions pupils can take to play their part in slowing down the effects of climate change.
