Welcome to Seomra Ranga, the Hub for Primary School Resources. For the overseas visitors “Seomra Ranga” means “classroom” in the Irish language.
Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Red and Blue Sorting Activity
This resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes, SEN pupils or pupils with speech and language difficulties. The resource aims to help younger pupils to consolidate the concept of colour by getting them to sort the blue and red coloured items using the sorting mats.
Heart Paper Weaving
This is a perfect art lesson to complete around Valentines’ Day/ Although this lesson is called “Paper Weaving”, it is much easier to do the weaving if it is done with card. This activity can be a little “fiddly”, so it may be better to do it with pupils in middle/senior classes. This lesson could be done as part of the Construction Strand of the Visual Arts curriculum.
Valentines QR Code Trail
The purpose of this resource is to create a fun and active technology lesson with a Valentines’ Day theme, where pupils get out of their desks to complete the task. Suitable for middle/senior classes, all of the 26 questions on the trail relate to the celebration of Valentines.
Valentine Image Mat
With the theme of Valentines’ Day well under way in many classrooms throughout the country, this seasonal image mat should be a welcome addition to talk, discussion and writing on the theme of Valentines in the run up to the big day.
