Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Unjumble the Sentences 01

This PPTX resource is aimed at pupils in first to third classes or SEN pupils. Its purpose is to assist with the understanding of both sentence structure, comprehension and reading for meaning. These sentences are made up of six words. There are 25 different sentences in the presentation for pupils to unjumble.

Shoe Prints Art

This is a really simple and easy art lesson to do, yet it is one which pupils of any age will enjoy. It focuses on the pattern of the shoes that they are wearing in school and trying to recreate that pattern onto a shoe print. A class full of these shoe prints makes a great display travelling up the wall, around the door and even onto the ceiling!

All you need to create this effective piece of art is the salad spinner, paper plates and paint, it’s that easy. This visual arts lesson could be done with any age group.

Sun Pictures

This Visual Arts resource contains two simple, yet effective, line drawings, creating a pattern which can be coloured using any art medium that you wish, eg. crayons, markers, colouring pencils or paint. They mimic rays coming out from quarter suns. The focus of both lessons is on colour and pattern.

Fónaic na Gaeilge 02

This phonics display resource consists of posters drawing pupils’ attention to word patterns in Gaeilge to help with spelling and written work. Twelve different phonics patterns are included in the resource. Each pattern has two posters, one with a large image and a single word, the other showing 14 examples of words with this sound pattern.

Spider Web Art

This Visual Arts lesson is quite easy and quick to do. However, it can really only be done in small groups and with adult supervision for younger pupils. However, It’s one of those lessons that pupils of all abilities can do and the end product is always interesting and different.

Alphabet Colouring Book

This resource consists of a 27 page pupil booklet to help consolidate pupils’ knowledge of words that begin with each letter of the alphabet. There is a separate page for each letter of the alphabet. 4/5 images are included on each page. Pupils are asked to colour each image and trace over the word label on each individual worksheet.
