Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Maths Week 2023 Table Quiz

This Table Quiz, especially put together for Maths Week 2023 (October 14-22), comprises eight rounds of six questions, a Tie-Break Round, Maths Jokes between rounds and answers to all questions on 151 Powerpoint slides. It is geared towards pupils in the middle/senior end of the school.

Paper Weaving

Although this lesson is called “Paper Weaving”, it is much easier to do the weaving if it is done with card. This activity can be a little “fiddly”, so it may be better to do it with pupils in middle/senior classes. This lesson could be done as part of the Construction Strand of the Visual Arts curriculum.

CVC Picture Matching 03

This resource is aimed at infant pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on phonics. It is based on their knowledge of CVC words with medial I. The resource could be used as a teaching tool or alternatively, it could be used as a form of assessment. There are 12 CVC Word cards for pupils to match the picture with the word.
