Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Initial Art
This Visual Art lesson using either paint or colours (crayons, pastels etc.) is a suitable lesson for the beginning of the year. Aimed at pupils in middle/senior classes, the lesson gets pupils to visually represent the initial of their first or second name on a grid. These pictures look great when displayed all together in your art display area.
Rugby World Cup 2023 Table Quiz
Rugby World Cup 2023 begins in France this weekend so it is a great time to mark the tournament over the next seven weeks with a Table Quiz. This resource comprises eight rounds of six questions, a Tie-Break round, Rugby Jokes between rounds and answers to all questions on 152 Powerpoint slides. It is geared towards pupils in the middle/senior end of the school.
Discover Irish Children’s Books
Internationally celebrated authors and illustrators Eoin Colfer, Marita Conlon-McKenna, Chris Haughton, Shane Hegarty and Laureate na nÓg Patricia Forde are among a collective of Irish writers, illustrators, teachers, librarians and booksellers who have come together to launch Discover Irish Children’s Books, a new initiative to champion children’s books written by those living and working in Ireland. read more…
Rugby World Cup 2023 Resource Pack
This new resource pack contains lots of different Rugby World Cup 2023 activities and files for display in the classroom. It contains 71 different resource files (in English and Gaeilge) totalling 865 pages of Rugby World Cup resources. These resources would be perfect for a scheme of work based around the Rugby World Cup 2023 starting in France on September 8th.
All About Me Booklet
This beginning of the school year resource is aimed at pupils in middle and senior classes. It contains 30 pages and would would be a great activity to complete over the course of the first week or two of the school year, either in school or at home. There are lots of colouring, writing and decorating activities to be completed. The completed booklet should give the teacher a great insight into their new pupils.
Coat of Arms Template
This is a nice art/SPHE lesson to do with pupils at the beginning of the school year. They have to design their own personal Coat of Arms by following the instructions to complete the six sections of the blank template which is included in the download. Pupils have the choice of drawing pictures or writing a little piece into each section.
Classroom Visual Instructions
Visual supports are essential in the classroom. They are especially beneficial to pupils with additional learning needs, however they really also benefit all pupils. This resource consists of 99 Classroom Visual Instructions to help pupils understand what is expected of them in any particular lessons. All of the instructions are circular in shape and feature a visual image and a one word instruction.

The Dates For Your Diary resource is back again for its 11th consecutive year. So many teachers make use of this list while they are making plans for seasonal and related activities in the classroom during the school year.
