Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Peg Polar Bear Scarves 01
This resource is aimed at infant/junior pupils or AEN pupils. It is based on learning and visual discrimination of colours with a Polar Bears theme. The resource asks pupils to match the colour of the polar bear’s scarf on each card with the name of the colour.
Winter Dolch Word Mats
Dolch words are a list of 220 “service words” developed in the 1940s by William Dolch. They consist of a series of eleven sets of words which are considered to be vocabulary which occurs most frequently in children’s reading material. This resource contains each set of Dolch words on a single A4 page with a Winter theme.
New Year Bookmarks 2025
These bookmarks are intended to help mark the celebration of the start of a New Year and the beginning of a new term. There are 14 different bookmark designs in the download in both English and Gaeilge. The bookmarks are in blackline for pupils to colour and decorate and they are printed three per A4 page.
New Year Colouring 2025
At the start of the new term, and the New Year, this colouring resource might be a nice way to ease pupils gently back into school and work mode. There are twenty one pages of blackline images with a New Year theme for pupils to colour in. Some pages are easier and some a bit more intricate for older pupils.
Punch the Holes 01
These hole punching activities are intended to help to develop a pupil’s hand muscles in order to improve their fine motor skills. Based on 16 different 2D shapes, the pupil has to use a single hole hand puncher to punch all of the black holes around the outside of each shape.
New Year New Me 2025
This new year resource is aimed at pupils in middle and senior classes. It contains 31 pages and would would be a great activity to complete over the course of the first week or two of the new year, either in school or at home. There are lots of colouring, writing and decorating activities to be completed. The completed booklet would make a great keepsake for pupils.
Nollaig na mBan
As a new term begins, it coincides with the Celebration of Nollaig na mBan on January 6th. This resource gives information on the history origins, customs and traditions surrounding the celebration of this event. It consists of 15 pages with lots of interesting information for pupils.
New Year Acts of Kindness
This set of A4 posters is designed to encourage pupils to perform practical acts of kindness in the classroom/school as they start into a new calendar year. The pack contains 28 posters in all, encouraging pupils to: Give a compliment to a classmate; Hold a door open for someone; Tell someone a joke; Say “Good Morning” with a smile, among others.
